Gap of Dunloe

From Cork we woke up early and headed to Killarney. Killarney is the first city on the ring of Kerry. It has a giant National Park and three lakes. There’s beautiful estates views and houses. It was raining and we really weren’t sure how to see everything.

So we decided to do it all. We signed up for a tour that takes you by bus to a carriage ride through the park the   you through the mountains and then drops you off at the top lake and you boat through all the lakes and end up at Ross Castle. Sounded good to us!

Our carriage ride was really rainy. And our horse couldn’t have cared less. He wouldn’t go faster than a slow walk and we even had to get out and walk up the largest hill in the park in the rain. Except my foot was hurting so I got to get back in the carriage and watch everyone else walk up the hill.

The mountain people are all farmers and they all have sheep. Our driver is one of the only sheep sheerers who lives in the mountains. So we got to learn all about it. :)
